Get well wishes to a fellow leather lover

One of Canada's premiere rocker chicks and leather lovers, Avril Lavigne, recently tweeted a cryptic message to a Twitter fan, stating that she has been absent from the music scene due to medical issues and is asking her fans for support and prayers. I thought it appropriate to show our support of a fellow Canadian by paying homage to her support of Ines Gloves!

~ Avril is no stranger to leather, and frequently indulges in fingerless leather gloves, such as my glossy fashion fingerless driving gloves, worn during a recent concert.

~ Avril plays peek-a-boo with a pair of my where are my fingers gloves at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

~ Oh, la la, indeed! Only Avril has the unique ability to blend elegance and casual fashion with a pair of my sensual oh-la-la leg gloves, a long t-shirt, and sneakers.

Thank you, Avril, for lending your support to leather gloves and bringing your unique rocker chic fashion to light. We wish you all the very best and hope to see you on stage very soon...Share/Bookmark

American Idol finalist Adam Lambert has achieved major success with his unique brand of music and accompanying fashion sense. My most favourite moment, however, is when I happened to catch Adam wearing a pair of Ines' my where are my fingers gloves in my nights black!

It takes a very strong sense of individuality to wear such distinctive gloves, and Adam Lambert rocks them to a tee...

If you missed Adam when he performed at Toronto, Ontario, Canada's Air Canada Centre this past July, not to worry... you can mirror his fetching look with Ines Gloves!Share/Bookmark

Ines' 5 days of fashion at Toronto Fashion Week: Day Two

Day Two of Toronto Fashion Week revealed boho chic, minimalism, the classics, and a splash of color...

Boho chic was back on the Canadian runways as part of designer Laura Siegel's collection of beautifully draped and easy-to-wear silhouetted pieces. To channel the bohemian inside you, pair a colorful pair of my where are my fingers gloves with a neutral colors and natural fabrics (silk, linen, cotton, etc).

The days of complication in fashion are officially over. Canadian designers are introducing a move to a simpler time, with classic, clean looks that look stunning and maintain an air of timeless elegance. My short every day glace gloves reflect this simplicity in elegance, when less is definitely more.

And even though a neutral color palette ruled day two of Toronto Fashion Week, every now and then a little splash of color happened by. Use Ines Gloves to add color to a neutral ensemble wth a wide variety of brilliant colors available.Share/Bookmark

Ines spotlight on Canadian designers: Jason Meyers

Jason Meyers is an incredibly talented designer originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and he was the first Canadian designer to bring Ines Gloves to the Canadian catwalks at Toronto Fashion Week in 2010!

~ My fashion half scoop gloves make their Canadian runway debut in my night black.

First debuted in 2006, Jason's first collection was based upon the tuxedo design, specifically for professional women with a love of beautiful things. In other words, glamorous clothing that inspires confidence.

Jason also made a name for himself by finishing among the top 3 finalists on Canada's Project Runway (season 2)! Because of his talent, skill, and dedication to the art of design, Jason has definitely made a name for himself not only in Canada, but all over the world. His designs are recognized for their detailed tailoring, garment structure, and timeless yet edgy fashions.

Jason's inspiration is derived from architecture, art, music, and female confidence. The result? Elegant haute couture with street-smart appeal.

Take a look at Ines Gloves' appearance at Toronto Fashion Week 2010:

~ the light, pastel colors of this Jason Meyers dress is complemented by my fashion half scoop gloves in my apple green.

~ an interesting way to wear my where are my fingers gloves! These gloves are designed to be like a second skin, but can easily be scrunched toward the wrist for a new look.

Unique leather artistry hits Vancouver's Xixo Apparel

We all know that leather fashion is huge, and it is because of the unique style brought about by leather that Vancouver-based clothing retailer XiXo Apparel has decided to invest in Cuadra leather products.

Carlos and Mar Ramirez are the husband-and-wife owners of Xixo (pronounced "shee-sho" Apparel, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Meaning "well done" in the native Aztec language of Nahuatl, it is perhaps an understatement, considering the superior quality of the products they carry. Similar to Ines Gloves, Xixo Apparel is known for its unique leather artistry and design.

The brand name of Cuadra was originally founded in Mexico by Augustin Cuadra 22 years ago, but Xixo Apparel is the first Canadian distributor of their leather products. And just like Ines van den Born of Ines Gloves, each article created for the Cuadra line is completely handmade with painstaking detail. This means that each Cuadra piece and each Ines glove is made entirely exclusively - each piece is like no other of its kind.

The fashions of the Cuadra line pair beautifully with the artistry of Ines Gloves...

Handmade genuine leather boots, jackets, and vests... the perfect match for my where are my fingers gloves for her and my man black driving gloves for him. Style for style...

The elbow-length sleeves of this sheer top demand an artistic Ines glove to complement the beautiful embroidery of the Cuadra leather bag and belt. Might I suggest the elegant my pearl shorty gloves? Entirely visible at the wrist, the sweet pearl matches the delicacy of the handbag embroidery. A perfect match!

This brown is such a warm, comforting color... why not wear your Cuadra leather jacket with a pair of my short every day glace gloves or my man silk lined elk leather gloves.

With Cuadra, you have already treated yourself to something beautiful... why not treat yourself to something elegant with Ines Gloves? Share/Bookmark

Leather trends for fall 2013 - an overview of what's to come!

As much as I don't like to admit it, the cool gusts of autumn are starting to blow in. Fortunately with that comes the ability to dust off your leather gloves, hats, jackets, and pants! Before heading out to watch the leaves change color, take a look at the latest and newest fashion trends for fall...

Once again, leather remains huge on the runways and in the minds of our favorite fashion designers. This season, leather has become more than simply accessories - gloves remain very much a large part of our fall wardrobe, but they are now accompanied by pants, skirts, and vintage-style jackets.

~ popular design label Mulberry has decided to make leather their go-to material for fall.

Feel free to dress head-to-toe in leather! If you dare to do this, be careful not to mix too many colors. The model pictured above looks beautiful in cranberry leather, which includes a pair of my sensual past elbow gloves in my wine. Wearing long gloves in this way will give you an accessory to show off once you remove your coat! Delightful!

We all have leather accessories in our closets - gloves, boots, and the staple leather coat. However, designers have really capitalized on the total leather look for fall...

~ Chanel looks very cozy in a fashionable pleated leather skirt, offset by icy white my where are my fingers gloves.

We have lots of new trends in store, so stay tuned for future posts that explore each new leathery trend in detail.Share/Bookmark

Ines gloves in history: the symbolism of my where are my fingers gloves

Throughout history, gloves have meant much more than an article of clothing or a means of keeping your hands warm.

Up until the early 20th century, long sleeves (such as those worn above) functioned as "gloves" to keep the hands warm in many cultures... very similar to Ines' my where are my fingers gloves!

Sleeves were also used to protect the hands when carrying hot pots...

So, the next time you have a dinner party and need to take that hot roasting pan out of the oven, I probably wouldn't recommend using my where are my fingers gloves... perhaps simply stick to using oven mitts and save your Ines gloves for making a fashion statement instead of a baking statement!
