Spring in Canada... fresh flowers

No one who saw The Devil Wears Prada will ever forget the infamous line from Miranda Priestley (played beautifully by the incomparable Meryl Streep)... "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking..."

Well, what Miranda fails to realize is that florals - the ultimate in femininity - are here to stay. Join in and celebrate spring in Canada this season with a floral print, flowy dress, and a pair of my short every day glace gloves.

Fresh florals are not just limited to dresses either. A printed scarf can easily be toned complemented with a delicate pair of my pearl shorty gloves to gain elegance from all of your chosen accessories.

Even Kendall Jenner joined the ongoing trend of florals on the runways of Paris, matching her muted floral tones to my warm silk perforated gloves, which already have an elegant floral print of their very own!

Celebrate spring in Canada with big, bold, and unabashedly sophisticated floral prints and Ines Gloves...Share/Bookmark

Ines' 5 days of fashion at Toronto Fashion Week: Day 5

As the curtain draws to a close at Toronto Fashion Week 2014, the runways are graced one final time by designers like Matthew Gallaugher and Stephan Caras. Beautiful fabrics, appealing patterns, and timeless silhouettes were the story of the day...

~ What looks better with a scooped neckline than a pair of my fashion scoop half gloves? Try them in a beautifully vibrant color to complement the darker shade of this elegant dress.

~ Neutral tones will be big for fall 2014, but why not liven things up with an elegant pair of my short every day glace gloves? This dress has a very elegant silhouette, complemented perfectly by these classic gloves...

~ There is nothing wrong with the little black dress, but fall 2014 is about color as well. The slender neckline and short sleeves of this dress would be perfectly matched to a petite pair of my petite cashmere lined gloves for a longer accessory, or my pearl shorty gloves for an elegant, timeless look that has vintage appeal.

Toronto Fashion Week 2014 brought some beautiful new and innovative ideas to the Canadian runways. I hope you enjoyed what you saw, and remember that for every design, there is an Ines Glove perfectly matched to it!

Unique leather artistry hits Vancouver's Xixo Apparel

We all know that leather fashion is huge, and it is because of the unique style brought about by leather that Vancouver-based clothing retailer XiXo Apparel has decided to invest in Cuadra leather products.

Carlos and Mar Ramirez are the husband-and-wife owners of Xixo (pronounced "shee-sho" Apparel, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Meaning "well done" in the native Aztec language of Nahuatl, it is perhaps an understatement, considering the superior quality of the products they carry. Similar to Ines Gloves, Xixo Apparel is known for its unique leather artistry and design.

The brand name of Cuadra was originally founded in Mexico by Augustin Cuadra 22 years ago, but Xixo Apparel is the first Canadian distributor of their leather products. And just like Ines van den Born of Ines Gloves, each article created for the Cuadra line is completely handmade with painstaking detail. This means that each Cuadra piece and each Ines glove is made entirely exclusively - each piece is like no other of its kind.

The fashions of the Cuadra line pair beautifully with the artistry of Ines Gloves...

Handmade genuine leather boots, jackets, and vests... the perfect match for my where are my fingers gloves for her and my man black driving gloves for him. Style for style...

The elbow-length sleeves of this sheer top demand an artistic Ines glove to complement the beautiful embroidery of the Cuadra leather bag and belt. Might I suggest the elegant my pearl shorty gloves? Entirely visible at the wrist, the sweet pearl matches the delicacy of the handbag embroidery. A perfect match!

This brown is such a warm, comforting color... why not wear your Cuadra leather jacket with a pair of my short every day glace gloves or my man silk lined elk leather gloves.

With Cuadra, you have already treated yourself to something beautiful... why not treat yourself to something elegant with Ines Gloves? Share/Bookmark

A guide to glove button length

The length of any glove is historically measured in "buttons", which dates back to a time when buttons on gloves were intentionally sewn to be precisely 1-inch apart. Button length refers to the distance measured from the base of the glove thumb to the topmost part of a glove.

~ 2-button: 8 - 9 inches in length, reaching just to the wrist without passing it.

~ 4-button: 10 - 11 inches in length, covering the wrist and extending several inches up the forearm

~ 6-button: 12 - 13 inches in length, extending along the forearm and often including a gauntlet-style sleeve

~ 8-button: 14 - 15 inches in length, reaching just to the elbow without passing it.

~ 12-button: 18 - 19 inches in length, reaching just past the elbow.
~ 16-button: 22 - 23 inches in length, typically ending towards the middle of the upper arm. this glove length represents the classic "opera length glove".

~ 21-button: 27 - 29 inches in length, reaching all the way to the shoulder.
