Celebrating stylish Canadians in Hollywood: Mike Myers

Mike Myers is a beloved comedian originally from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada... he is perhaps best known for his wacky portrayal of British spy Austin Powers or for his ultra-cool character Wayne in Wayne's World or even as the voice of Shrek, the green ogre from a stinky swamp who falls in love with a beautiful princess.

No matter which role he may choose, Mike can always decide to stay elegant and classic in a pair of my man special glace gloves. Whether you are looking for red carpet glam or cool and casual, Ines Gloves has a glovey style for all occasions.Share/Bookmark

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he spent his early years working for the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC), and he now boasts a 40-year run on SNL.

A show-stopping performance in red leather

Wow! Never before have I been witness to such a moving, beautiful performance as I did last night at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Imagine Dragons, a Las Vegas-based rock group visited Toronto for their Smoke + Mirrors tour. I eagerly anticipated this stop, which I had been excitedly waiting for for the past few months!

Lead vocalist Dan Reynolds pleased me to no end when he walked out on stage wearing a beautiful black and red leather jacket a la Ines! The weather in Toronto was a bit too warm for leather gloves, but I could totally picture Dan wearing a pair of my man special glace gloves. You never know what can happen with Ines Gloves in the picture!

Thanks to Imagine Dragons for providing such an uplifting, moving performance... I look forward to the next one!

Celebrating stylish Canadians in leather: Joshua Jackson

Canadian actor Joshua Jackson first endeared himself into our hearts as Pacey on the hit television series Dawson's Creek. Since that time, he has evolved from a sarcastic, yet timid, adolescent into a fashionable, elegant young man and a Canadian to be proud of!

Walking onto a work set in the midst of a cold winter, Joshua keeps his hands warm with a pair of my man alpaca lined peccary gloves. Joshua's most recent endeavour into television (on a show called Fringe) has literally exploded in the ratings domain.

And in the realm of his personal life, Joshua finds himself wearing his my man special glace gloves more often... especially since becoming engaged to the beautiful and fashionable Diane Kruger!

There you have it, my fellow Canadians, with just a touch of elegance, Ines Gloves can bring a boy into a man...Share/Bookmark

Spring trends for the Canadian man

Denim was a popular fabric several years ago, and has now been rejuvenated in a very modern, yet classic way, particularly for the Canadian man.

Gone are the days of the traditional suit and tie. Now, grab some faded denim pants and patterned blazer, throw in my man peccary leather gloves, and you have the perfect ensemble for a spring afternoon!

A mix of natural materials complement perfectly to create a rugged, yet refined look. My man special glace gloves quite literally complement anything, and are the Ines Glove most suited to a warm spring afternoon in Canada.

Mix and match denim and leather this spring, as it becomes our go-to fabric of the season!Share/Bookmark

Gingham is the new black

This spring in Canada is all about the warm hues of gingham... sunny orange, radiant red, beautiful blue. Gingham dresses were in style at the turn of the century, only now the trend is for everyone.

Watch the streets of Canada come alive with the spark of gingham and glace gloves from Ines!

Moving into spring, my man glace gloves are perhaps more suited to evening attire as the temperature cools down. The days of a plain white dress shirt are over... spice your suit up with a freshly-pressed gingham shirt.

This spring, take some time to enjoy the freshness of a gingham shirt and my man special glace gloves, made especially for our Canadian men of leather.Share/Bookmark

Celebrating stylish Canadians in leather: Hayden Christensen

I recently watched an interview this our latest Canadian leather style icon Hayden Christensen, and I came away with the impression that he has a quiet elegance about him. He appreciates the simpler things in life, and chooses to stay away from the busy-ness that can be Hollywood. He can often be seen on the streets of British Columbia, Canada, where he has established a beautiful home for himself.

Actor Hayden Christensen won the coveted role of Anakin Skywalker in the most recent Star Wars films, which instantly forces his popularity with the Canadian public to new heights.

As a Canadian and a talented actor, I think it's safe to say that Hayden has made us all proud. With his quiet grace, he fits the profile in a pair of my man special glace gloves in a recent ad in V magazine. Quiet elegant that exudes masculinity... just like a pair of Ines Gloves.Share/Bookmark

Celebrating stylish Canadians in leather: Seth Rogen

That's right! One of the funniest actors in Hollywood today hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada! Actor Seth Rogen is hilarious, with his own unique brand of humour. Undoubtedly one of the funniest men in Hollywood, Seth is an actor, writer, and producer.

Though Seth does not wear a lot of leather (from what I can find), he was caught in a beautiful pea coat attending a taping the the Late Show with David Letterman that could have been perfectly matched with a pair of my man special glace gloves

Catch Seth is his latest blockbuster feature Neighbors, on DVD right now!

Avoid a glove faux-pas: the etiquette of Ines Gloves

For many years, both men and women were expected to wear a pair of gloves when seen in public. To be seen without a pair of gloves was a huge social faux-pas, even considered to be indecent! Unfortunately, our modern use of gloves is dwindling - social norms are relaxing. This laissez-faire attitude has affected our wardrobe for far too long, so let us don our favorite pair of Ines Gloves and look at the rules of etiquette surrounding this must-have accessory for both men and women...

For men, it is essential to own at least 2 pairs of leather gloves: one in black and the other brown. May I suggest my man cognac driving gloves (pictured above) and my man special glace gloves? These gloves will not only keep your hands warm, but they will also add a touch of elegance to your wardrobe. Classic accessories that are always in style...

Black gloves have a more formal appeal, so your brown gloves can be worn when in a casual setting. White gloves were once a mandatory accessory when a gentleman stepped out for the evening, but the modern era has all but made such gloves obsolete.

For women, it is important that our gloves complement our bag and shoes in color. While we are granted more liberty and creativity in fashion, a few simple rules of etiquette apply:

~ though men must remove their gloves to shake someone's hand, a women can greet while wearing her gloves.

~ men should remove their gloves when inside.

past-elbow, and shoulder-high leather gloves are removed prior to eating. Remember, it is bad form to soil our Ines gloves!

~ for both men and women, gloves are properly removed one finger at a time. Share/Bookmark
