Warm up in leather and lace...

As Canadians, we are now at the height of what has been one of the coldest, snowiest, and all-around, disastrous winters in history! (Well, in my history, anyway) We've all had to resort to our winter wardrobe, but for those of us in the know, this includes keeping our favorite Ines Gloves close by! And what better way to beat the winter blues than to combine the elegance of Ines with the sassy-chic of lace?

One of the best looks for this dreary season is a beautiful lace dress worn under a warm fur coat, with a pair of my fashion scoop half gloves that can be left on after the coat has been removed. These gloves may not keep your hands warm, but they will certainly cause the conversation to heat up!

Another delightful winter look pairs a lace blouse with cropped sleeves and my elbow high leather gauntlet gloves. For an added touch of elegance, a cuff-style bracelet can be worn around the wrist of the glove.

As the snow continues to fly, keep your Ines Gloves handy to really warm up our Canadian winter! Share/Bookmark

Canadian leather fashion: made in Canada?

We love our leather products here in Canada... gloves, handbags, boots, jackets. Unfortunately, so much of the leather we purchase in Canada is actually manufactured outside of the country and brought in under a specific, Canadian label. With Ines Gloves, however, the leather may be purchased elsewhere in Europe, but the gloves are carefully made in Amsterdam.

So, what do you do when you want to purchase a uniquely Canadian-made leather item? Your only option is to find a Canadian designer with a similar philosophy...

Look no further than Montreal-based label M0851! Since 1987, the creative design team of M0851 has sought to create leather handbags, jackets, and accessories that are not only made in our own Canadian backyard, but that combine charm and functionality as well.

Like Ines Gloves, every M0851 item has a unique element of "Je ne sais quoi" added in... whether it is a creative design or simply a natural flaw in the leather used in manufacturing, every M0851 item has a well-known identity.

The criteria for M0851 is straightforward... authenticity, innovation, high quality, and charm.

A simple M0851 leather handbag would match perfectly with a pair of my short every day glace gloves from Ines, in my desert brown. A homegrown handbag deserves a special pair of gloves...

And what is an M0851 leather jacket without a pair of my man fingerless peccary driving gloves?

Enjoy the marriage of Netherlands creativity and homegrown Canadian talent with M0851 and Ines Gloves...Share/Bookmark

The elegance of Ines... at Danier Leather

Since 1972, Canadian-based leather manufacturer Danier Leather has been treating their clients to fashionable leather wear at a reasonable price. With its origins as an independently-owned family business, Danier continues to be known as the ultimate destination for leather fashion in Canada. Modern sensibility and a beautiful esthetic...

Danier has a wide selection of leather coats and jackets, which seems to be continuously evolving. Each year, the collections become more and more unique.

And my personal favourite... the leather gloves! Due to the high production volume at Danier, their leather gloves are mass-produced. Nevertheless, they hold a quality very similar to that of Ines Gloves.

My husband and I ventured into Danier this past Saturday afternoon to take in the scent and sight of leather. Our first stop? The men's leather gloves...

... where he picked out a pair of gloves very similar to my man black driving gloves. Fitting like a second skin, these gloves are unlined to provide maximum texture and dexterity while driving.

And my turn in the women's glove section... just like at Ines Gloves, Danier provides a variety of glove styles in a variety of colors. The gloves above are similar to my happy knot gloves of Ines, but only available in black.

Also like Ines Gloves, Danier Leather in Canada continues to prove their excellence by their commitment to quality in their fashions, in their craftsmanship, and most importantly, in their customers.Share/Bookmark

Ines spotlight on Canadian designers: Jeremy Laing

The feeling of finding a unique, Canadian fashion piece to add to your wardrobe is like no other. Shopping for new trends right in our own backyard can make for an interesting adventure, and finding new and different ways to pair our Canadian fashions with Ines Gloves is simply fun!

Deep within the hustle and bustle of busy dowtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, lies Canada's latest fashion treasure: designer Jeremy Laing.

This talented young designer began piecing together his first clothing ideas at the tender age of 13 years. His unique style involves the combination of organic and geometric approaches to patterns and design, which garnered him an exclusive apprenticeship with designer Alexander McQueen.

~ The sleeveless silhouette of this sleek, stylish dress would be delightfully paired with my sensual pointed hem laced gloves to keep your arms covered and looking elegant.

~ The purity and cleanness of this white ensemble would work well with a pair of my short every day glace gloves in a bright, snappy color.

~ This ensemble is a perfect blend of all the right colors for winter. Continue this warm combination with a unique pair of my fashion scoop half gloves in my nude.

Wearing Canadian labels helps to promote the talent that this country has to offer, and forces Canadian designers to be in a constant state of change and evolution... coming out with new collections and trends to inspire the public. The elegance of Ines Gloves has broken into the Canadian market and has even found its place on Canadian runways!
