Victorian women would often store their gloves in ornate wooden boxes when not in use. As you can see, the gloves are laid flat so as to avoid creases, and are stored with a glove stretcher and a buttonhook for easy access when needed.Share/Bookmark

Glove tools in history - powder shaker


A Victorian woman would often carry a small wooden shaker containing powder to assist her in donning her gloves. Leather gloves would often stick together; applying powder would allow her hand to slip easily into her gloves before stepping outside. Share/Bookmark
